The Oregon Department of Agriculture (“ODA”) has issued a notice of stop sale and removal for a fertilizer/pesticide product that contains active ingredients not listed on the label.

Alert – Uncle John’s Blend 0-0-2 (w/ 0.1% Fe), by Cutting Edge Solutions, LLC, contains salicylic acid

The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) has reason to believe the product 0-0-2 Uncle John’s Blend (w/ 0.1% Fe), manufactured by Cutting Edge Solutions, contains a pesticide active ingredient, salicylic acid, not listed on the label. This advisory is based on laboratory testing and confirmation of undeclared pesticide active ingredients.

Growers of all crops and retailers are advised to discontinue using or selling 0-0- 2 Uncle John’s Blend (w/ 0.1% Fe) until further notice. The Department has issued a statewide Stop, Sale or Removal Order and is working with the manufacturer to rectify the situation.

Other fertilizers have also previously been identified by ODA as containing pesticides not labeled as active ingredients.

No pesticides are specifically labeled for use with the production of cannabis. However, the ODA maintains a guidelist for cannabis pesticides to assist growers in determining which pesticide products are not legally prohibited from use on cannabis.

The guidelist was updated March 7, 2017 with eleven new products. The pesticide guidelist is not an endorsement from the ODA, but producers should carefully review and adhere to the ODA’s recommendations. You may contact the ODA with questions or for label clarification.
